As a Server Load Balancer Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting load balancing solutions that ensure high availability and performance of critical applications. You will work closely with customers to gather requirements, create technical designs, and provide expert-level troubleshooting and support.
Location:
Greenwood Village, CO (3 days in, 2 days remote). Only local candidates on C2C. Reason for opening:
Backfill position. The current person is more of a technical manager rather than an engineer in the weeds. Focus:
Load Balancing Design/Architecture + Implementation. Designing global SLB solutions, implementing them for customers, and doing F5 to A10 migrations. This is an expert-level role in Server Load Balancing. Key Responsibilities: Conduct meetings with customers to gather application requirements. Design solutions aligned with best practices and standards. Prepare and follow peer review processes for approvals. Create MOPs/SOPs for implementation following change management. Implement and verify solutions with customer acceptance. Provide tier 3 troubleshooting and support. Required Skills: Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN operations, network protocols, UNIX/Linux (Redhat), VMware or similar hypervisors. Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS handshake, and packet analysis using Wireshark. Experience in network security including VPN, DDoS, malware protection, and firewalls. Familiarity with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and traffic engineering. Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts. Knowledge of ITIL and change management processes. F5 Load Balancer Expertise: Expert skills with LTM, GTM (Big IP DNS), AFM, TMOS CLI, iRules, VLAN, self-IP, floating IP configuration. A10 Networks Expertise: Expert skills with ADC platform (virtual servers, nodes, pools), ACOS CLI, AFLEX rules, health monitors, SSL templates, VLAN, VRRP configuration. Seniority level
