The Center for Health Equity & Community Wellness (CHECW) seeks to eliminate racial and other inequities resulting in premature mortality. CHECW works to increase visibility of harm caused by racist, socially unjust policies and pushes for redress in NYC communities. The division focuses on social determinants of health, including environmental and commercial factors, and collaborates with community, faith-based, and healthcare organizations. The Bronx Health Education Associate will manage and expand health education programs, working closely with the Bronx Family Wellness Suite (FWS) team and other CHECW programs. Responsibilities include developing educational content, recruiting speakers, tailoring workshops to community needs, managing promotional activities, maintaining records, supporting evaluation efforts, leading community health events, and supporting client referrals and program management. Minimum Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of community work experience related to the duties; or High school diploma and six years of relevant community work experience; or Equivalent education and experience, with at least one year of experience as described above. Residency Requirement
NYC residency generally required within 90 days of appointment. Some exceptions apply based on continuous city employment. Additional Information
