The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed) is seeking two faculty members to join our expanding team. Candidates should be dedicated to teaching, collaboration, and serving our communities. One position is based in Battle Creek (OB optional), and the other in Kalamazoo with OB. About the Program
Our Battle Creek 6-6-6 program, launched in 2019, is supported by the community and located in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Faculty here excel in areas like POCUS, MSK USN, Lifestyle Medicine, and more. Battle Creek is vibrant and diverse. The Kalamazoo-based residency is housed in a new 20-room clinic, with a variety of specialized clinics and fellowships, including street medicine, OMM, gender-affirming care, and more. Our department supports faculty interests and skills, offering benefits like CME funding, generous vacation, and pension plans. Responsibilities
Provide outpatient care and supervise residents. Precept, cover inpatient and newborn services (OB in Kalamazoo). Recruit, supervise, and educate resident physicians. Engage in quality improvement and outcomes management. Participate in committees and initiatives. Teach undergraduate and graduate medical students. Opportunity for research seed grants ($10,000). Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
MD or DO degree. Completed an accredited residency. Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine. Eligible for Michigan license. Committed to education and team collaboration. About WMed
