Position Overview:

The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVACHS) is seeking a Physician to serve as the

Clinical Director of the Cardiology Division . Commitment to excellence in patient care and an interest in teaching are essential. A record of contribution to the scientific literature is preferred. The division chief will contribute to the clinical mission, participate in leadership duties, including distributing clinical and educational assignments, supporting administrative functions, mentoring colleagues, and supporting research when feasible. All full-time division members participate in outpatient clinics, including fellows clinics, and inpatient consult services. Our hospitalist service reduces inpatient care demands on subspecialty divisions. We have added another full-time physician position, allowing us to accommodate a division chief with any subspecialty interest, such as advanced echocardiography, other cardiac imaging, heart failure, consult service, or expertise in interventional and/or structural cardiology. Our procedures include Watchman implants, TAVR, and TEER. Duties:

Commitment to excellence in patient care and an interest in teaching are essential. Participate in quality improvement activities and ensure compliance with rules and regulations of the agency, facility, and department. Maintain supervision and training of fellows, residents, and medical students from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Participate in various leadership duties. Requirements:

US Citizen Active and unrestricted license in any US State Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Residency Training in Internal Medicine in any US State Board Eligible or Certified in Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine Current ACLS and BLS Certification Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The Tucson VA provides comprehensive clinical services and has received recognition for quality. It is in a growth phase, with plans for a new subspecialty building. SAVACHS is the principal teaching affiliate of the University of Arizona Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy. Candidates must be eligible for a faculty appointment with the University of Arizona to facilitate teaching. Benefits:
