Position Summary: The Data Center Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of data center infrastructure projects, including the deployment of structured cabling systems, fiber optic and copper installations, rack & stack configurations, and the implementation of ladder runners, raceways, busways, and all above-the-rack infrastructure. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and project management acumen to successfully deliver complex data center projects on time, within scope, and on budget. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing large-scale data center builds or retrofits, with a focus on quality assurance, risk management, and stakeholder communication. Location: Austin TX, Bay Area CA Key Responsibilities: Project Planning: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget forecasts. Resource Management: Lead and manage the project team, assigning tasks, and ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently and effectively. Time Management: Develop and maintain the project schedule, tracking progress, and making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Implement contingency plans to address unexpected issues. Budget Management: Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring that the project stays within budget. Approve and track expenses. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management. Provide regular project status updates. Quality Management: Ensure that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards. Implement quality assurance and control processes throughout the project lifecycle. Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the project, including conflicts, delays, and changes in scope. Project Execution: Oversee the execution of all project tasks, ensuring that the project plan is followed and that objectives are achieved. Change Management: Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, or budget, ensuring that all changes are documented, approved, and communicated to stakeholders. Final Deliverables: Ensure that all project deliverables are completed to the required specifications and delivered on time. Project Review and Documentation: Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and identify areas for improvement. Ensure all project documentation is completed and archived. Qualifications : Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 5-7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on data center or similar projects. Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar). Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, team members, and senior management. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple aspects of a project simultaneously. Budget Management: Experience managing project budgets and financial forecasting.
