Position Summary The VCfC Director is a Faculty/Administrator who serves as the primary administrative and clinical professional for the Van Tatenhove Center for Counseling (VCfC), housed within the School of Counseling (SOC) on the Asbury Theological Seminary Wilmore campus. The center provides counseling services to seminary students and their families. The ideal candidate will have a proven record in academic and mental health/career counseling, with skills as a Christian counselor educator and clinician. This professional will lead the VCfC, supervise daily operations, manage staff and students, and align the center's mission with Wesleyan faith, counseling research, and ethical standards. The Director reports to the Dean of the SOC and collaborates with faculty to facilitate training for advanced students through practicums and internships, overseeing budget, staff, and clinical services. Essential Functions Strategic Leadership & Vision

Oversee planning, implementation, and evaluation of VCfC operations, including budget and program assessment. Develop future growth plans, expanding from an on-campus service to a broader Christian mental health provider.

Academic & Clinical Training Oversight

Represent the academic training mission within the clinic setting. Recruit SOC students for field placements at VCfC. Supervise student-counselors in accordance with institutional policies.

Supervision & Personnel Management

Train, supervise, and evaluate staff and student workers, including managing timesheets.

Program Development & Support

Oversee campus programming focused on prevention and restoration.

Institutional Liaison & Representation

Serve as the primary link between VCfC and seminary administration and faculty.

Qualifications Skills Strong management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Experience supervising counselor trainees and in graduate counselor education with Christian integration. Education and Experience Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, preferably CACREP-accredited. Licensed or license-eligible as a Kentucky Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S). At least seven years of clinical experience as a licensed professional. Minimum of five years supervisory experience in clinical and administrative roles. Experience integrating orthodox Christian faith with counseling research and practice within a Wesleyan tradition.
