Description The University of Washington (UW), Department of Medicine Division of Endocrinology and Nutrition is currently recruiting for a position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Practice. The specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. Full-/part-time status is negotiable. The estimated start date is January 1, 2025, but is negotiable.

In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, with eligibility for renewal. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments aligned with a 12-month service period (July 1 - June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period, allowing one month for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.

Position Details The position is a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty role at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Practice. It is based at the University of Washington Endocrine Care clinic and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, located on the Montlake campus and South Lake Union sites, respectively. Responsibilities include outpatient management of patients with Endocrine neoplasia, evaluation and management of thyroid nodules (including ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration), and management of endocrine neoplasia such as thyroid carcinoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, pheochromocytoma, and endocrinologic complications of cancer therapy. Additional duties involve inpatient attending oversight of an Endocrine Fellow-managed inpatient general Endocrine consult service. There is an opportunity to gain expertise and accreditation in radiofrequency ablation.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research/scholarship, and service.

Compensation The base salary range is $16,700 - $21,700 per month ($200,400 - $260,400 annually), depending on experience and qualifications, or as mandated by U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations. This includes salary from UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan and the University. Additional compensation may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS). Qualifications The candidate must have an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent), medical licensure in Washington, and Board Eligibility or Certification in Endocrinology (or foreign equivalent) by the start date. Proficiency in managing endocrine neoplasia and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration of thyroid nodules is required. Foreign medical graduates must have completed all USMLE steps or equivalent to qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship.
