Wifi Test Engineer (Advanced Wi-Fi Router Solutions)

JOB SUMMARY Responsible for Integration and Functional Testing on 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be Advanced Wi-Fi Routers. Candidate must have hands-on testing experience in Wifi 6E and Wifi7 Routers and be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Wifi Network, LAN/WLAN, Wireless Security, DNS, and DHCP services. The candidate must coordinate with Design, Architecture, Development, and Operations to ensure optimal customer experience. Must have hands-on working experience in Networking and Cable Industry and be responsible for coordinating with onshore and offshore team members. Responsible for the development of test strategies and the design of quality assurance practices.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates with product and development teams to identify product and technical requirements. Reviews Product & Technical Requirements and Design specifications of overall product. Represents Testing Team in planning meetings to provide input and guidance on testing best practices. Develops, modifies, and executes test plans, test procedures, and test scenarios. Writes and executes sanity & regression suites to validate Wi-Fi product features & functionalities and software applications. Executes automated test suites and updates test runs, ensuring maintenance and tracking of test cases and test accounts. Participates in design, code, and functional product reviews. Works with other Validation Engineers & FW Engineers to identify, reproduce, and document bugs or defects. Assists in providing guidance and mentorship for junior-level Quality Assurance Engineers. Provides technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques. Works with automation teams and reviews test scripts to measure software code quality and functionality. Collects and analyzes data for software process evaluation and improvements and integrates them into business processes to address business needs. Involves in troubleshooting meetings and provides required assistance to the FW Development teams and vendors. Conducts both happy-path and negative test scenarios while doing exploratory testing. Responsible for compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner. Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC). Self-starter, self-motivated, driven individual. Hands-on testing experience in Wifi 6E and Wifi7 Routers. Ability to work well with shifting priorities. Good knowledge of 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be Wireless Networking Standards, TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols. Good knowledge of Unix and Linux Commands; solid understanding of the OSI model. Good knowledge of WLAN/LAN/WAN Network Engineering and implementation with hands-on troubleshooting skills. Proficient understanding of Networking terminology and components (e.g., DHCP, IP Routing). Deep understanding and prior experience working on 802.11 MAC/PHY protocols & 802.11 specifications. Programming experience in any of the scripting languages (PERL, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, etc.). Good understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools and systems. Proficient with network analysis tools, such as Wireshark, Wi-Fi Analyzer, Heat Mapping Tools, PingPlotter. Proficient using JIRA for work management and reporting. Experience with Test Rails is a plus. Creative solving of technical problems to ensure the ability to translate technical requirements. Ability to track multiple test efforts simultaneously and synthesize the results in a fast-paced environment. Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure. Ability to prioritize and organize effectively. Ability to provide coaching and counseling when necessary. Ability to supervise and motivate others. Strong leadership skills with proven ability to provide effective, results-oriented direction. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional partners. Provides overall direction for all areas of Product Testing for routers.

Education BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience. Testing Certification ISTQB Advanced Level preferred. Preferred - Candidate should have CWNA Certification or CCNP or equivalent Certifications.
