Systems Administrator

Job Title: Systems Administrator Location: Silver Spring, MD - Hybrid Remote - Primarily remote with occasional work at our data center in Silver Spring and occasional on-site meetings in downtown Bethesda Eligibility: H-1B Holders, Green Card Holders, and US Citizens are eligible Job Description: Install and upgrade Linux and Windows servers Assess the stability, security, and scalability of Linux and Windows systems Troubleshoot firewall and network policies (LAN, WAN, VPN) Review system error logs and user-reported errors Manage user access and maintain server architecture security Support staff and back-end system users and developers Create and monitor system backups Create and troubleshoot shell scripts Create and monitor automation scripts Work with relational databases to ensure seamless data storage and retrieval Key Skills and Qualifications: Advanced Linux skills Strong shell programming/bash scripting Backups (rsync over ssh) Experience with databases, preferably PostgreSQL System performance monitoring, preferably Nagios DNS (bind/Win DNS) Samba and NFS Have a car and be able to lift at least 55 pounds Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience at a data center What We Offer: Generous benefits package including health, dental, vision, disability, life, and 401k Opportunities for continuous learning and professional development Get celebrated when it's your birthday and be ready to party for others #J-18808-Ljbffr
