Mission
We are looking for a Team Leader – PLC Programming to lead a group of automation engineers responsible for the design, development, and deployment of control systems across diverse industrial projects. This position combines strong hands-on technical expertise with team coordination and project oversight. The role will ensure the delivery of reliable, high-performance automation solutions while mentoring engineers and maintaining technical excellence across all project phases.
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Team Coordination
Lead a team of PLC programmers and automation engineers across multiple projects.
Provide technical direction on PLC architecture, programming standards, and integration strategies.
Coordinate task distribution, support professional development, and ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
Oversee the development of structured PLC code using Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200 / S7-1500) or Beckhoff TwinCAT.
Guide the team through implementation of industrial communication (e.g., PROFINET, EtherCAT) and safety protocols (e.g., PROFIsafe).
Supervise on-site commissioning activities and support troubleshooting during integration.
Project Interface & Quality Assurance
Act as a technical liaison between engineering teams, project managers, and external stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to IEC 61131-3 standards, internal coding guidelines, and safety regulations.
Review and validate control system documentation and functional specifications.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in PLC programming and automation systems.
Proven experience leading technical teams in an industrial environment.
Deep knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal; experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT or CODESYS is a plus.
Strong understanding of industrial fieldbus systems, machine safety, and drive technologies.
Class B driver’s license and willingness to travel across Europe.
Preferred Experience
Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical field.
Experience in customer-facing roles or cross-functional project leadership.
Familiarity with version control, test automation tools, or software lifecycle methodologies in automation.
Exposure to international manufacturing environments and multicultural teams.
