Senior Project Manager Engineering (Wastewater)

From delivering safe drinking water and treating wastewater responsibly to developing sustainable water supplies and protecting lives through flood control, your work will directly support public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience. We bring together experts across disciplines to solve complex challenges with bold thinking and technical excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of strategies/initiatives for municipal water/wastewater clients.
Act as the key client-facing conduit between the client and HDR design teams.
Establish client relations and engage in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
Actively participate in industry associations, ideally in a role supporting such organizations (e.g., California Water Environment Association).
Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of small to large multidiscipline projects with high technical complexity; larger projects typically exceed $5 million and involve a large project staff.
Supervise large project staffs and mentor less‑experienced engineers and project managers.
Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at project sites with Project Managers and technical professionals.
Coordinate staffing and workload to complete documents on schedule.
Work with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller, or Company Controller and Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews.
Implement QA/QC procedures.
Execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans.
Maintain professional engineering registration.
Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree
PMP Certification
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
10 years of related experience
Minimum 5 years of project management experience
Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position (e.g., PE or P.Eng)
MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience is a plus)
Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills
