Scope and Responsibilities
Professional staff supervision
Supervise professional and support staff through daily interactions and bi‑weekly one‑on‑one meetings.
Lead weekly departmental team meetings.
Conduct quarterly performance evaluations in line with the College’s professional development program.
Collaborate with other Student Affairs staff to conduct training/professional development programs.
Lead efforts to review office workflow, policies, and procedures to ensure clear expectations and provide exemplary customer service.
Greek Life (30%)
Primary advisor for Kenyon College Greek Life, overseeing governing councils and all fraternity/sorority/specialty organization participation.
Facilitator for exploration and establishment of new Greek Life organizations.
Advise Greek Life governing bodies by attending weekly executive and general meetings and other committees.
Work with inter/national organizations to ensure adherence to college and national policies.
Support Greek organization leaders through regular meetings, collaborations, and support programs.
Member of the Specialty Housing Board to determine Greek division housing requirements.
Oversee Greek programmatic efforts including recruitment, education programming, community alumni initiatives, Greek Week, and Greek Day of Service.
Assist Greek Council in the management of the Standards of Excellence chapter accreditation process.
Connect with and support campus and national Greek Life organization advisors.
Facilities, Operations, & Programming (25%)
Manage contract and implementation of a student organization management system.
Collaborate with others to grow awareness and use of the system.
Oversee all student engagement controlled facilities for upkeep, usage, and visioning.
Assist in planning and design of new student spaces.
Assist strategic growth and development of the campus programming board and Social Board.
Oversee “Weaver Wednesdays”, an alcohol‑free late night programming series.
Develop and implement trainings and resources for student organizations (registration, budgeting, event planning, leadership development, risk management, etc.).
Provide leadership on office social media strategy.
Review and update registered events with alcohol policy and training program yearly.
Evaluate and administer the Student Organization Handbook regularly.
Provide general oversight to office and affiliated programming budgets.
Other Responsibilities (15%)
Hire, train, and supervise student interns on office assistance and special projects.
Serve on campus committees (e.g., Homecoming, First Year Experience).
Strategic planning, evaluation, and assessment for all areas of responsibility.
Partner with campus offices such as Student Rights and Responsibilities, Residential Life, Alumni and Parent Engagement, Community Partnerships, Athletics, and Academic Affairs.
Serve as a member of the Kenyon on‑call rotation (approximately 3 times a semester).
Facilitate opportunities for learning and student development among student leaders.
Participate in activities and events as a member of the Division of Student Affairs.
Other duties as assigned.
Evening and Weekend Requirements
Serve in campus on‑call rotation and provide service during evening and weekend events.
Working Conditions The role is primarily in an office but requires navigation between campus facilities, commuting between locations, and ability to work outside in various weather conditions. A valid driver’s license and ability to drive campus vehicles are required. The job involves lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs., moving tables, chairs, and furniture. Evening and weekend work is frequent and required.
