Senior Building Enclosure Consultant
NOVA Engineering is seeking an experienced
Senior Building Enclosure Consultant
for our growing Central Florida operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional based in either the
Orlando
or
Tampa, FL
metro areas who thrives in a dynamic consulting environment and is passionate about building science and envelope performance.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct peer reviews of architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals with a focus on building enclosure systems.
Design remedial roofing and envelope solutions for existing facilities.
Perform visual surveys, moisture assessments, pre‑design evaluations, and property condition assessments.
Lead forensic investigations into building enclosure and roofing failures or performance issues.
Occasionally perform field testing of roofing, waterproofing, window, and curtainwall systems in accordance with ASTM, AAMA, TAS, and ANSI standards.
Conduct quality assurance inspections to verify compliance with design documents, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards.
Prepare detailed technical reports documenting findings, testing results, and recommendations.
Manage projects and provide technical oversight for building enclosure, roofing, and facility‑related assignments.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Education
Minimum of 8 years of experience in building enclosure and roofing consulting.
Professional licensure as an Engineer or Architect preferred but not required.
Highly desirable certifications:
Registered Roof Consultant (RRC)
Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC)
Registered Roof Observer (RRO)
Certified Infrared Thermographer (CIT)
Strong technical knowledge of building construction and envelope systems.
Proven ability to identify and resolve issues related to constructability, integration, durability, thermal performance, and maintenance of building envelopes.
Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Ability to perform work in outdoor temperature extremes.
Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
Ability to occasionally overnight travel in and out of state.
Ability to climb ladders.
Ability/certification to operate a mechanical boom lift, or willingness to become certified in operation.
