Full-Stack Software Engineer – Customer Care & Communications Platform | Hybrid in Charlotte, NC | Contract-to-Hire
Optomi, in partnership with a leading financial services organization, is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to support the development of a large-scale Customer Care and Communications (C3) Platform. This internal platform supports thousands of users and plays a critical role in customer engagement and operational excellence.
This engineer will join a growing team focused on building modern, cloud-native applications and migrating core services from REST to GraphQL using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS. You’ll be part of a high-impact initiative driving digital transformation across enterprise systems including Salesforce, Genesys, and LiveEngage.

Experience of the right candidate Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of professional software engineering experience (full stack preferred). Experience building and maintaining APIs with Node.js (Express or similar frameworks). Working knowledge of React or React Native. Hands‑on experience with AWS (Lambda, AppSync, SDKs, CI/CD pipelines). Familiarity with relational, key-value, or document‑oriented databases. Experience with Git/GitLab and modern DevOps workflows.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with GraphQL, ideally with Apollo Server, AppSync, or Yoga. Familiarity with Terraform and AWS infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
Responsibilities of the right candidate Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript. Contribute to front‑end components built with React or React Native. Build and deploy applications on AWS, collaborating with DevOps on CI/CD automation. Implement and enhance GraphQL APIs as part of the REST‑to‑GraphQL migration. Participate in peer code reviews and establish best practices for maintainable, high‑quality code. Troubleshoot and resolve integration and production issues across multiple systems. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and performant solutions.
