Salary and Benefits

Annual base salary: $75,000

One‑time signing bonus: $6,000

Position Overview Eaton’s Electrical Services & Systems team offers a comprehensive portfolio of services tailored for every stage of a power system’s life cycle—from design, build, to support. The Power Systems Solution group is a full‑service systems integrator that integrates equipment and technologies to provide a complete, power automation solution. The team combines deep expertise in HMI software, automation, and electrical engineering to deliver cost‑effective, reliable solutions.

In This Development Program, You Will

Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Write and deploy complex power transfer and other control schemes such as Main‑Tie‑Main transfer, load‑shedding/peak‑shaving schemes, breaker control, SCADA system development, and generator control.

Validate that the system contains proper controls, metering, and monitoring—including power meters, automation equipment (PLC/HMI), protective relays, load sharing, and synchronization—as per approved drawings in the factory setting.

Required (Basic) Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution, graduating before August 2026.

Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.

Minimum of one internship/co‑op or equivalent 3 months experience in a technician or maintenance role working on or with machines, vehicles, or large equipment.

Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States.

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in technical engineering (Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering) from an accredited institution.

Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Prior work experience within the electrical/power industry.

Experience testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems.

Experience programming PLCs.

Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community.

Position Success Criteria

Location in one of five major U.S. regions (Central, Northeast, Southeast, Gulf, West).

Complete and maintain compliance with Eaton’s safety program and policy, including the QEW program and required re‑certifications.

Ability to work variable hours, including nights and weekends, and travel within the district/state/region/country as required.

Must drive an Eaton vehicle and obtain required DOT qualifications if applicable.

Perform physically demanding tasks: stand, walk, stoop, squat, kneel, reach above, lift, carry, push, pull; lift up to 50 lb routinely.

Experience with HMI software and power monitoring packages.

Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP).

Strong computer skills (Windows OS, databases).

Intermediate networking skills, troubleshooting Ethernet and fiber interfaces.

Knowledge of power quality meters, trip units, protective relays, UPS.

Knowledge of test/repair techniques and diagnostic instruments.

Ability to interface with internal/external customers, sales teams, and teammates on a technical level.

Service orientation and customer relationship management.

Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
