Director of Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance Join Us in Building Pathways to Early Education Success

- the YMCA Early Education & Care program is now hiring a Director of Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance (ERSEA) to oversee the eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment and attendance of children and families enrolled in our early learning programs. This role covers Early Head Start, Head Start, Prevention Initiative, and Preschool for All and is responsible for developing policies and procedures that align with city, state and federal guidance to ensure all children/families are eligible for services.

Pay : $80,000 per year.

Scope of Responsibilities

Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with funding agencies.

Manage and implement best practices of industry standards to support ERSEA and Parent Family and Community Engagement.

Lead ongoing recruitment events and activities within assigned communities.

Establish and support networking partnerships with community organizations to recruit and enroll eligible families.

Collaborate with site staff and the YMCA Marketing Department to develop recruitment strategies and enhance communication to families through social media.

Implement, monitor and track an annual waiting list of eligible children and families.

Develop, implement and access resources to support staff in understanding ERSEA and Parent Engagement per state and federal guidelines.

Monitor, track and follow up on service delivery requirements and content milestones to ensure compliance with city, state and federal requirements.

Manage and support each site in implementing a research‑based parent engagement curriculum to improve father/male involvement.

Provide consultation, technical assistance, resources, training and support to all childcare staff in family engagement and supportive services.

Collaborate with management to develop an integrated system of service delivery for children and families.

Lead Family Support staff, providing training, coaching and guidance to develop childcare staff and optimize team performance.

Handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality.

Collaborate with the Quality Compliance Manager to develop the five‑year and annual updates of the program community assessment.

Minimum & Preferred Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Service, Early Childhood Administration and Management or Human Services, or a related field.

At least 3–5 years of experience in childcare or related field with supervisory or leadership roles.

Background or experience with data systems to support federal grant programming (Child Plus, COPA, CSD‑CARES).

Knowledge of city, state and federal guidelines and regulations to determine eligibility for subsidy.

Team leadership experience coaching or directing team members.

Demonstrated commitment to and passion for the YMCA of Metro Chicago’s mission.

Excellent verbal communication skills, tailored to multiple audiences.

Ability to establish constructive relationships and act as a positive role model.

Customer service orientation with effective communication and relationship building.

Continuous learner who applies new knowledge and skills.

Organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple competing priorities.

Ability to keep detailed, accurate, and complete records and documentation.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and adaptability to new technology.

Evidence of YMCA Leader competencies in previous experience or practice.

Child Abuse Prevention
