Position: VMware HCX Deployment & Configuration Specialist.
We are looking for a skilled professional to manage VMware HCX services for workload migration, disaster recovery, and network extension across on-premises and Google Cloud environments in Denver, CO.
Responsibilities
Install and configure HCX components (HCX Manager, Interconnect appliances, WAN Optimization, Network Extension).
Set up HCX services such as vMotion, Bulk Migration, Replication Assisted vMotion (RAV), and Network Extension.
Configure source and destination sites for HCX connectivity.
Design and implement secure network extensions between on-premises and cloud environments.
Configure firewall rules, routing, and VPN/Interconnect for HCX traffic.
Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies during HCX setup.
Plan and execute workload migrations using HCX services.
Monitor migration progress and troubleshoot issues.
Optimize migration strategies based on application dependencies and performance requirements.
Monitor HCX appliance health and performance.
Implement high availability and fault tolerance best practices.
Tune HCX configurations for optimal throughput and minimal downtime.
Maintain detailed documentation of HCX configurations and migration plans.
Collaborate with cloud architects, networking teams, and application owners.
Provide training and support to operations teams on HCX usage.
Ensure HCX configurations align with organizational governance and compliance standards.
Participate in audits and provide evidence of configuration integrity.
Requirements
Experience configuring and managing VMware HCX for workload migration, disaster recovery, and network extension across hybrid cloud environments.
Proficiency in deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization of HCX services, including interconnects, network profiles, and migration workflows.
Strong knowledge of networking, security, VPN, firewalls, routing, and on-prem to cloud connectivity.
Ability to monitor and tune performance, implement high availability and fault tolerance.
Documenting and governance skills are essential.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
