Overview We are looking for an experienced hands‑on engineer to lead the optimization of on‑device ML models for Qualcomm’s edge‑AI solutions, including Robotics, IP Cameras, Drones, and on‑prem Edge AI boxes. The candidate will work closely with world‑renowned customers, collaborate with AI research teams, and evaluate and optimize AI models for Qualcomm’s Hexagon NPU.
Responsibilities
Work with world‑renowned customers in robotics, home devices, drones, IP cameras, and enterprise solutions to understand their ML needs.
Analyze and optimize various ML models on the Hexagon NPU.
Evaluate quantization schemes and use internal tool chains to control model loading, execution, and scheduling.
Perform system‑level analysis of concurrent ML model execution and daisy‑chaining of Vision AI, Gen AI, and VLA models.
Provide technical leadership to the R&D team.
Coordinate between cross‑functional and cross‑geographic teams.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field + 8+ years of relevant experience.
OR Master's degree + 7+ years of relevant experience.
OR Ph.D. + 6+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
Hands‑on experience with ML model optimization and analysis.
Low‑level programming experience with DSP or AI accelerator.
Experience with TensorFlow, TFLite, PyTorch, ONNX.
Strong understanding of ML frameworks, tools, and technologies, with expertise in at least one major platform.
Pay Range & Benefits Salary: $242,300.00 – $363,500.00 per year. Competitive annual discretionary bonus program, RSU grants, and a highly competitive benefits package designed to support success at work, home, and play.
