The Director, Portfolio will play a key role in enabling data‑driven, cross‑functional decision‑making and evaluation of trade‑offs across the development pipeline. The director will partner with Asset Leads and Asset Teams to develop and maintain forward‑looking decision frameworks, lead portfolio decision forums, collaborate closely with Finance to develop dynamic budgets, and lead the annual portfolio planning cycle. The role also involves building and refining operational infrastructure that supports portfolio governance and fostering cross‑functional alignment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop forward‑looking decision framework and infrastructure with Asset Leads. Lead and manage decision forums, ensuring clear supporting materials and communication. Partner with Finance to develop dynamic budgets and facilitate scenario planning. Drive annual portfolio planning exercise in conjunction with annual strategic plan. Provide support for creation of portfolio materials for Board and executive discussions. Develop and maintain processes and templates for planning, budgeting, and decision exercises. Partner with VP of Portfolio & Program Management to evolve best practices. Education and Experience
BA or BS; preference for advanced degree (MBA or MA/PhD in a scientific area). 8+ years of industry experience in portfolio management, scenario analysis, and strategic planning OR 5+ years in strategic consulting with biopharma focus. Familiarity with business case modeling (e.g., NPV), clinical development principles, drug lifecycle, and cross‑functional partners. Strong capability in complex scenario analysis and strategic trade‑off evaluation. Demonstrated ability to drive structured decision‑making and influence senior stakeholders. Clear communication with executive leadership. Experience communicating with executive teams to drive robust decision‑making. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Lead workstreams and influence cross‑functionally. Strong strategic and technical understanding; analytical skills; anticipate operational issues and recommend solutions. Initiative, continuous improvement mindset, experience managing across multiple functions. Strong work ethic with sense of urgency and consistent high quality output. Excellent written and oral communication skills; comfortable interacting with all levels. Detail oriented; manage multiple priorities.
