We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated
Director of Quality and Risk
to lead and manage a comprehensive hospital-wide quality and risk management program. This role is ideal for a collaborative leader passionate about patient safety, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement. In this role, you’ll work across departments to monitor, evaluate, and enhance the quality of care provided, while also guiding efforts to reduce organizational risk and maintain regulatory standards. This is more than a leadership position—it’s an opportunity to influence and elevate patient care and safety while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Key Responsibilities Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the hospital’s quality assurance and performance improvement programs. Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards and organizational policies. Coordinate and support readiness for accreditation and regulatory surveys, including documentation, education, and onsite support. Maintain and update critical hospital-wide plans such as: Provision of Care / Scope of Services Information Management Infection Control Leadership Plans Lead and manage risk management activities including: Incident reporting and investigation Risk assessment and mitigation Documentation of potential claims Liaison with the Corporate Risk Management team Collaborate with hospital leadership to identify areas of improvement through data analysis using systems such as UDS, ORYX, Press Ganey, and others. Guide and support departments in the development and revision of policies and procedures aligned with current best practices and regulatory standards. Conduct ongoing staff training and education on compliance, risk reduction, and patient safety initiatives. Support communication across departments to coordinate care, address patient concerns, and promote prompt resolution of issues. Champion a culture of continuous quality improvement, transparency, and employee engagement. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Relevant licensure or certification as required by state law. Proven experience in healthcare quality and risk management, including regulatory compliance, conflict resolution, and performance improvement leadership. Demonstrated knowledge of hospital operations and familiarity with accrediting bodies (e.g., The Joint Commission, CMS). Preferred: Experience with data reporting and analysis platforms such as UDS, ORYX, Press Ganey, or similar. Strong communication and leadership skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
