The Nuclear Med/Pet Technologist will perform high-quality Nuclear and PET procedures while providing excellent patient care. PRN - Day Shift (Flexible) Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Associate's Degree, graduate of an approved program in Nuclear Medicine (Required) Minimum Work Experience:

1 year clinical Nuclear Medicine experience in a hospital environment (Preferred) Required Skills/Knowledge:

Understands and performs all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and PET studies Required Licenses and Certifications:

Registered Radiography Technologist (ARRT) (N) upon hire or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) upon hire Functional Accountabilities

Quality Control

Maintain required NRC records. Identify each image with proper and permanent patient data. Perform all required calibration, wipe tests, and other QC tests. Follow correct procedures regarding warm-up, use, and shut-down of equipment. Check paperwork, PACS, and patient charges for accuracy prior to submission; complete RIS assignments immediately following exam. Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and equipment; ensure room is prepared & stocked prior to start of exam and at change of shift. Ensure section compliance with all pertinent NRC, DOH, and JCAHO rules, regulations, and standards. Patient Care

Greet patients respectfully, introduce self, and treat all patients/families courteously; explain exam to patients/parents; communicate throughout the exam; provide follow-up info upon release. Make every effort to meet scheduled appointment times and accommodate stat or add-on requests. May be asked to travel to a CH-affiliated site; cooperate and assist as needed. Ensure proper and safe handling of isotope for injections; follow safety standards for staff involved with PET/CT patients. Work in conjunction with CT Technologists. Share on-call responsibilities equally with all Nuclear Medicine Technologists. Clinical Safety

Adhere to OSHA regulations. Conduct Time Outs prior to isotope injections. Inquire about menstrual status and pregnancy risk for female adolescents and teens. Report equipment malfunctions immediately; coordinate repairs and calibration. Practice personal radiation safety. Administrative

Coordinate daily workflow for timely and quality patient service; prioritize patient flow; coordinate staff lunch schedules and coverage. Provide daily room/area assignments. Review future schedules to ensure timely isotope orders. Maintain and report equipment outages. Train staff on new protocols and procedures. Communicate effectively during shift handoffs; conduct daily huddles; report personnel issues promptly. Professional Development

Maintain ARRT (N), NMCT, or CNMT certification. Update CPR certification biennially. Complete mandatory annual reviews. Attend seminars and in-services. Provide leadership on patient care, customer service, and technology updates. Maintain Point of Care Testing certification for glucose testing. Organizational Accountabilities
