Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. / Azad is seeking an Interim Director of Behavioral Health for a W2 Contract position based in Santa Clara, CA.
Schedule: Day, Monday through Friday, 5 8's Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks Compensation: This position offers a daily rate of $650 to $675 which equates to $3,250 to $3,375 per week (based on a 5-day workweek) Per Diems: Lodging: $182 per day and Meals & Incidentals: $86 per day Per diems are paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $1,876 per week Total Weekly Compensation (Daily Rate + Per Diems):
Between $5,126 to $5,251 per week Benefits:

Summary: Plans, organizes, directs, evaluates, and coordinates inpatient-nursing services within a service line. Collaborates with the health plan and the medical group staff in the development and execution of strategic plans, providing quality care, and managing cost-effective services aligned with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible for achieving the strategic vision for nursing in their assigned areas of accountability. Responsible for the quality of nursing care and services to patients in their assigned areas of responsibility. Maintains key relationships with clinical and administrative director peers, chiefs of service, other department directors reporting to assistant administrators for clinical and operations, regional nursing leadership, affiliated medical groups, and community peers. Serves as the supervisor and role model for the clinical team, meeting regularly with staff to monitor the care environment and individual patient care. Ensures the facility complies with regulations and directives from accrediting and regulatory bodies (e.g., The Joint Commission, Department of Mental Health, Department of Health Services), with special emphasis on protecting patient rights. Ensures the safe, effective, and efficient implementation of care according to policies and professional standards, including non-violent crisis intervention and psychiatric rehabilitation when applicable. Collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer and other leadership to identify and implement innovative models and best practices focused on quality, service improvement, and cost control. In partnership with the medical group, directs the development and implementation of quality and utilization standards across the care continuum to ensure coordinated, patient-focused, cost-effective services. Builds trust and visibility with the nursing team, facilitates patient transitions across care settings, and partners with leadership to ensure excellent care experiences and a safe environment for patients and staff. Ensures that policies, procedures, and practices comply with organizational, legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements. Provides clinical and professional oversight for accountable areas. Oversees the development of departmental standards, including compliance with regulatory agency expectations. Develops services that deliver high levels of customer satisfaction with a focus on quality and innovation. Maintains continuous regulatory readiness. Manages human resource issues, labor relations, safety, and risk management within the department. Supports practice improvements and patient outcomes through effective clinical committees. Ensures the successful implementation of organizational strategies such as hospital efficiency, workplace safety, supply cost initiatives, backlog reduction, and patient satisfaction. Directs budget and resource allocation for designated departments. Oversees financial performance and implements cost-reduction and quality-improvement strategies. Participates in strategic planning for recruitment and retention of nursing resources. Ensures adequate staffing levels to meet patient care needs. Uses data and research to support clinical changes and improve service delivery. Leads hiring, retention, and staff development to achieve optimal outcomes with minimal reliance on overtime or temporary staffing. Mentors nursing managers in leadership, budget management, professional development, and outcome-focused practice. Serves as a community-facing representative of the hospital, supporting public relations and service promotion efforts. Qualifications: Administrator experience in a standalone Behavioral Health clinic required. Minimum five (5) years of inpatient psychiatric experience required. Minimum five (5) years of progressive management experience required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Social work or other health related field required. CA RN License required.
