Associate Director

for the Institute for Black Intellectual and Cultural Life will serve as a critical thought partner for the Director in the development and execution of Institute programs and initiatives. They will also oversee operational activities of the Institute, working closely with the Assistant Director, Institute members, and other institutional partners. The

Associate Director

will manage budget, reporting, and stewardship responsibilities, preparing drafts for the Director, and will support fundraising and community engagement. Description Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Masters or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Five years of progressively responsible experience in program administration, operations management, or related fields. Administrative experience in higher education. Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex events, manage logistics, and oversee budgets. Strong relationship builder with the ability to build collaborative initiatives. Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to inspire campus partners and Institute stakeholders. Appreciation for and interest in faculty research and staff professional growth. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications

Current or previous program leadership is highly preferred. Familiarity with alumni relations, fundraising, or donor stewardship practices. Experience tracking program metrics and preparing reports for leadership or stakeholders. Department Contact for Recruitment Inquiries

Supports the Director in advancing the Institutes vision, goals, and strategic priorities, in collaboration with faculty and advisors. Advances the mission of the Institute through collaborations with campus centers, departments, community, and alumni organizations. Percentage Of Time

Percentage Of Time 30 Description Operations Management and Oversight - Oversees planning and execution of Institute programming including events, speaker series, conferences, and community gatherings, ensuring effective outreach, logistics, staffing, and promotion. Monitors key performance indicators and prepares reports to inform leadership decisions. Develops and manages the Institutes budget in alignment with strategic priorities, in coordination with the Director and the Office of the Provost. Serves as acting representative of the Institute in the Directors absence. Percentage Of Time

Percentage Of Time 50 Description Donor Relations and Stewardship - Partners with alumni relations and advancement to develop and implement fundraising goals and strategies. Coordinates donor engagement through events, visits, and communications; identifies alignment between donor interests and Institute initiatives, including opportunities for student-alumni interaction. Prepares stewardship reports and supports ongoing donor relationship-building in partnership with Advancement staff. Percentage Of Time
