We’re looking for a hungry, world‑class
product-focused
engineer to join us at Axle.
We’re building AI Digital Workers for financial compliance teams.
Compliance teams inside banks and fintechs are buried in manual investigations. They hire huge teams to manage the work, and customers wait days or even weeks for their onboarding or transactions to get reviewed.
We’ve spent the past year proving that AI can fix that.
We’ve raised $6.2M in seed funding and are scaling from 8 → 15 teammates over the next couple of months. You’d be joining right before liftoff.
As an early engineer, you’ll have massive ownership over the product, from architecture and performance to what we build next. You’ll be shaping the foundation of a platform that will redefine how compliance work gets done.
You’ll ship directly to production, work side‑by‑side with the founders, and see your code in use at companies like Koho, Viva, Tipalti, Riseworks, Coinlist, and Xendit. We move fast, and we expect the same from you — you’ll be shipping from day one.
Our engineering team is already stacked with ex‑founders and founding engineers. Now we’re looking for another top‑tier builder who wants to help us scale a category‑defining product that will power the next generation of financial infrastructure.
We're backed by Diagram Ventures, Mistral Ventures, and Uphonest Capital.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the architecture and development of our suite of AI agents.
Develop the infrastructure necessary for integrating and utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs).
Develop and manage data platforms with large‑scale time series data.
Create tools for internal use that assess agent performance and support automated evaluations.
Design and implement Python services, including APIs and webhooks, to manage agents, orchestrate operations, perform benchmarks, and integrate with external systems.
Write clear documentation for code, systems, and processes.
Support GCP infrastructure, deployment strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure performance, scalability, and efficiency of the application and database.
Key Qualifications
Hungry to be an early engineer at a high‑growth startup and is willing to grind.
Deep architectural experience in large‑scale distributed systems and data management.
Strong sense of responsibility and ownership with a bias for solving problems and shipping impactful features into production that are well tested (unit & end‑to‑end).
Ability to work from vague requirements and crystalize them for our product.
A deep‑stated curiosity and passion for technology, with a fast‑paced learning capability. Prior experience is valued but not as crucial as the enthusiasm to learn and adapt.
Strong commitment to customer care, maintaining consistent, responsive communication, and an enjoyment in engaging with customers. Listen, understand, and address customer needs.
Exceptional problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a knack for tackling complex challenges.
Proven ability to operate independently as well as part of a team, showcasing strong collaborative skills.
