We are looking for exceptional Commercial Counsel candidates

to join our dynamic and cohesive legal team at the forefront of shaping how cutting‑edge AI technology reaches users, researchers, and enterprises worldwide. We operate as true strategic partners—moving fast, thinking creatively, and working collaboratively to support deals that matter. We handle everything from enterprise go‑to‑market agreements and groundbreaking research collaborations to complex compute infrastructure deals and product partnerships that push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI. This is a rare opportunity to tackle novel legal challenges that don’t have precedent, build scalable frameworks for an emerging industry, and contribute directly to responsible AI development.

Responsibilities

Structure, negotiate, and close a wide range of commercial agreements spanning GTM, research collaborations, policy and product partnerships, procurement, and compute infrastructure.

Partner collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment on commercial terms and initiatives.

Help build our commercial legal infrastructure, from contract templates to strategic playbooks, that supports our organization’s accelerating commercial momentum.

Identify and manage legal risks while maintaining momentum in our rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Stay current on legal developments affecting AI technologies and provide timely guidance to stakeholders.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have

A JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.

Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.

Strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and legal frameworks.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts for non‑lawyer audiences.

A low‑ego, high‑empathy orientation to internal colleagues and external partners.

Intense curiosity about AI technology and commitment to responsible AI development.

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities and ambiguity.

A “doer” attitude willing to roll up your sleeves and pitch in where needed.

Compensation and Benefits Annual Salary : $265,000—$320,000 USD (plus equity, benefits, and potential incentive compensation).

Hybrid work policy: Staff are expected to work from our San Francisco or New York office at least 3 days a week, with some flexibility for an interim period.
