Ropes Program Specialist (Summer 2026) Full‑time, entry‑level position at YMCA Camp Greenville. Lead climbing, high‑rope, zipline, and other ropes‑based programming for summer campers.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the safety and supervision of staff, campers, and equipment while at the challenge course, climbing room, rock site, and zip lines.

Create a magical experience for all campers/guests in the program area.

Serve as a role model, upholding camp values and working with integrity, creativity, and safety in mind.

Manage and facilitate the use of all high‑adventure/ropes‑based activities (zip lines, giant swing, climbing walls) on camp as needed.

Manage equipment and safety checks associated with challenge activities and maintain the use of all ropes, gear, and logs.

Support daily camp activities when not in the program area and fill in for cabin leaders at times.

Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.

Attend/complete required abuse risk management training.

Adhere to procedures related to managing high‑risk activities and supervising consumers.

Follow mandated reporting requirements.

Adhere to job‑specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

Must be 18 or older or have graduated high school by June 2026.

CPR/First Aid Certified (required before starting or ability to obtain by June 2026).

Willingness to learn how to use multiple belay systems.

Willingness to work on a team to support the mission of camp.

Preferred Qualifications

ACCT Level 1 Certification.

Experience facilitating challenge courses.

Experience with indoor/outdoor rock climbing.
