Job Purpose The Business Development Manager (BDM)/Account Manager will assist in growing Sanmina's current market position as a leader in outsourced electronics manufacturing and development services to the Automotive & Mobility market. He/She will proactively develop, close, and grow commercial business supporting all of Sanmina’s services, including Engineering services, NPI, Production, EOL, and post-production services. He/She will be responsible for all aspects of the assigned customer base, serving as the liaison between the company and the customer to ensure customer needs are met, and ensuring all account-related decisions are guided by the terms and conditions of the customer’s contract while meeting expected financial goals. The ideal candidate will develop and cultivate new customers, support and grow existing accounts, and look for ways to increase revenue and profitability. Automotive OEMs and Tier 1 Automotive Suppliers will be the focus but support of all customers in the assigned territory is expected.

Nature Of Duties

Identify and develop commercial business opportunities with customers in North America, specifically within the assigned territory.

Drive revenue achievement and growth in assigned territory and assigned customer base.

Act as the prime/single point of contact for all of Sanmina’s services.

Conduct initial qualifying meetings through active listening to confirm ideal customer criteria and gain a mutual understanding of customer needs and expectations.

Accomplish account objectives by communicating customer expectations, monitoring and following through assignments, and maintaining complete customer satisfaction.

Drive/negotiate pricing for products and services to accomplish profitability targets, including non‑standard services/solutions as business needs evolve.

Understand customer’s business and product requirements, and align Sanmina's technology and product roadmaps.

Coordinate with internal team members to develop and deliver customer proposals.

Manage business development activities with program managers and operations personnel.

Successfully gain customer commitments via awards and purchase orders.

Lead or work collaboratively with the global account team depending on the customer.

Maintain and update customer databases throughout the process in Sanmina’s CRM system.

Resolve customer issues and identify product issues.

Work collaboratively with all internal stakeholders within Sanmina to win and maintain a positive customer experience.

Develop business relationships with accounts at all levels of the decision matrix, including management and leadership.

Provide complete and accurate quotations to the customer without omissions, on time, and with communicated lead times.

Maintain an accurate forecast for all qualified products.

Develop, maintain, and execute an account plan.

Coordinate all aspects of customer/VIP visits and presentations, including business reviews (e.g., QBRs) and operations reviews.

Manage settlement of commercial claims and ensure account receivables are current per terms.

Convey Sanmina’s value proposition effectively.

Assume any additional duties that may be assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, MIS, or equivalent plus a minimum of 7‑10 years in electronic manufacturing, outsourcing and/or technical sales and/or services.

Understands and is knowledgeable about Sanmina’s full capabilities.

Familiar with electronics manufacturing and outsourcing benefits.

Proficient at developing and maintaining strong relationships internally and with customers.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong presentation skills.

Effectively uses a consultative sales approach and closes deals.

Ability to travel globally and domestically.

Proficient with software tools and applications such as CRM and Microsoft Office.

Strong project management skills; comfortable managing multiple projects and prioritizing responsibilities.

Experience with developing and closing on customer agreements.

Ability to manage escalations.

Proven negotiation skills.

Adept time‑management skills.
