Senior Project Manager
At MACOM, the Senior Project Manager in this position will be responsible for leading large, complex, strategic capital investments from concept to completion. This role involves extensive collaboration with Operations, Facilities, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Finance and Purchasing, senior leadership, and external consultants and contractors. The candidate will rely on their construction management experience to lead with clear direction to determine scope, identify the appropriate consultants, contractors, and internal team members, drive the A&E design, create budgets, and oversee project execution to final acceptance and closeout. Responsible for leading cross-functional teams while collaborating with key stakeholders to determine scope, goals, budget, and risks. They are responsible for overseeing, monitoring, reporting, administering, and documenting commitments to ensure project objectives and schedules are met.
Key Responsibilities
Management, leadership, and mentoring of program direct reports
Support, encourage, and motivate cross-functional teams
Primary point of contact with customer, face of company
Project plan development (IMS & WBS)
Project coordination and managing project interdependencies
Performance monitoring & metric reporting
Ensure program/project milestones are met
Stakeholder communications, negotiations, and problem-solving
Managing budgets & resources
Program document management
Risk management
Contract management
Collaborative team task management
Key Competencies & Skills Required
Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Track record of driving projects from initiation through project closeout
Experience with PLM, SAP, and documentation control
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
Expert knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
Expert knowledge of industry processes, systems, procedures, and risks related to a program
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project
Ability to collaborate effectively across the MACOM organization as well as with customers
Fluent in spoken and written English
Required Qualifications & Experience
BS + 15 years of experience, or MS + 10 years of experience in Construction Management, or other related fields
Construction management experience (preferably in a semiconductor fabrication, microelectronics, or technical product facility) with project budgets ranging from $10m to $50m
Experience with local building, fire, life safety codes and environmental regulations
Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, process piping, N2 & LN2, fire protection systems
5+ years of experience across different functions within an organization/project management
PMP or PMI-CP Certification a plus but not required
Exceptional interpersonal skills and commitment
An unquenching thirst for action items and a track record of closing them quickly
Willingness to travel on an as-needed basis
