Job Description:
Translates or converts a logical data model into a physical data model.
Defines the physical table, columns, primary keys, foreign keys, data types, constraints, and relationships within a chosen database.
Tunes the physical data model considering factors like indexing strategies.
Generates database schema creation scripts (DDL) to deploy the physical database design for the target database.
Experience in reverse engineering to generate physical models from an existing database or database scripts.
Analyzes existing data structures to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Understanding of different data modeling techniques (relational, dimensional, hierarchical) and their application in different scenarios.
Proficiency in using data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin) to visualize and document the physical database design.
Collaborates with database administrators to implement data models in database systems and optimize performance.
Good communication skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
