Job Summary: The Clinical Pharmacist clears, monitors, evaluates, and modifies patient chemotherapy to ensure effective, safe, and economical patient care. Serves as a member of the healthcare team to make therapeutic decisions, such as drug product selection and dosing. Performs research to retrieve and evaluate the best pharmacotherapeutic information available to support provider and nursing teams. Provides education and support to patients/caretakers, and performs other related duties. Supports providers and nurses with clinical care in the oncology infusion center and evaluates all orders to ensure appropriateness for patient care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Five to seven years of related experience.
Registered Pharmacist in Rhode Island or eligible for licensure.
Residency or Board Certification in Pharmacy highly desirable.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Working knowledge of computers.
Proficiency in English required; Spanish speaking ability is a plus.
