Our projects are broad in scope and detail-oriented, encompassing both public and private developments, ranging from educational and residential spaces to municipal infrastructure, industrial sites, and transportation corridors. Project Managers at SCJ are energetic and skilled senior-level professionals who provide technical oversight and project management expertise on a variety of projects. Independence and initiative are critical as project managers must move projects forward with minimal oversight. This position requires skills to facilitate project development and execution, coordinate effectively with stakeholders, and supervise technical staff. What our projects may include Educational, Industrial, and Public Facilities Commercial Development Residential Housing Municipal Infrastructure Site grading and utility design for affordable housing Multimodal trail design Stormwater Design
What you'll be doing Lead Impactful Projects:
Oversee
meaningful, community-focused work, from parks and trail development to affordable housing and residential neighborhoods. Lead Project Strategy:
Define clear goals, standards, and processes in line with SCJ Alliance policies. Manage Project Workflows:
Create and adapt work plans to ensure timely and efficient delivery. Oversee Daily Operations:
Coordinate tasks and teams to keep projects moving smoothly and on schedule. Build Client Partnerships:
Develop and maintain strong working relationships that support long-term collaboration. Facilitate Team & Client Meetings:
Lead effective, focused meetings that promote communication and progress. Mentor & Supervise:
Guide engineering staff and oversee CAD technician work to ensure quality results. Handle Documentation:
Initiate and manage all required project documentation, from kickoff to closeout. Manage Budgets:
Track and control project budgets with accuracy and accountability. Identify New Work:
Engage with clients to uncover new opportunities and contribute to business growth. Support Proposals & Presentations:
Assist in developing proposals and presenting to secure future projects. Communicate Effectively:
Share ideas clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats. Operate with Independence:
Show initiative and self-direction in moving work forward with minimal oversight. Ensure Contract Alignment:
Monitor the financial aspects of contracts to support both company and client interests. Maintain Quality Standards:
Conduct thorough QA/QC and peer reviews on design work and technical documents.
What you bring A passion for serving others, communication, creativity, and a commitment to high-quality work. A PE license and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent. 15+ years of progressively responsible transportation engineering experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired. What we bring An
