The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining network infrastructure using advanced firewall, routing, switching, and security technologies.
This role ensures the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable network services aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewall services, including Intrusion Detection and Prevention, Content Filtering, VPNs, TLS/SSL inspection, and Data Loss Prevention.
Implement and manage complex Cisco switching, routing, and wireless systems.
Configure and support reverse proxies and load balancing solutions using A10 Networks.
Administer Network Access Control (NAC) solutions including Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Free Radius, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
Deploy multifactor authentication solutions using Microsoft technologies.
Design and manage cloud-based virtual networking and security services.
Implement authentication standards such as 802.1x in wired and wireless environments.
Manage scalable routing protocols including EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
Manage certificate operations and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools like Nessus and NMAP across Windows, Unix, and Linux systems.
Perform packet and protocol analysis with tools such as Opnet, Riverbed, Wireshark, and network taps.
Use centralized management platforms such as Panorama and SolarWinds for monitoring and network administration.
Work with major server and desktop operating systems to support network functionality.
Required Qualification
Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field as determined by the AOC. Minimum 10 years of CONUS technical experience in IT networking and network security. Preferred Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience with Palo Alto Networks firewall services, including IDS/IPS, content filtering, VPNs, and TLS/SSL inspection. At least 4 years of experience in complex Cisco switching, routing, and wireless technologies. Minimum 3 years experience with reverse proxies and load balancing (A10 Networks). Minimum 2 years of experience with Network Access Control solutions like Cisco ISE, Free Radius, and ACLs. Experience implementing multifactor authentication solutions with Microsoft technologies. Experience with cloud-based virtual networking and security services. Familiarity with authentication standards (802.1x) in wired and wireless applications. Hands-on experience with scalable routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP. Experience with enterprise data center micro-segmentation implementation. Knowledge of certificate management and PKI. Proficiency in vulnerability management tools such as Nessus and NMAP on multiple operating systems. Skilled in packet and protocol analysis tools including Opnet, Riverbed, and Wireshark. Experience with centralized network management tools like Panorama and SolarWinds. Familiarity with major server and desktop operating systems and utilities. Certifications
