Position Purpose: The Staff Software Engineer is responsible for leading a team of engineers in building and designing products that our customers and associates love. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team with engineers of all experience levels who help each other grow their technical and leadership skills while creating, deploying, and supporting production applications. You will also assist in product and tool selection, configuration, security, resilience, performance tuning, and production monitoring. Staff Software Engineers contribute to foundational code elements that can be reused, as well as architectural diagrams and other product-related documentation. You will be a core player on the product team, expected to build and grow the skillsets of junior engineers. Key Responsibilities: Delivery and Execution (50%) : Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software, understanding its value; approach issues broadly; achieve results under tough circumstances; develop test suites; take on new challenges with enthusiasm. Learns and Grows (10%) : Seek growth opportunities; learn from experiments and experiences. Plans and Aligns (20%) : Innovate for organizational success; communicate effectively; collaborate within agile processes; adapt to changing demands. Supports and Enables (20%) : Assist product and engineering teams; mentor junior engineers; identify team gaps and suggest improvements. Reporting Structure: Typically reports to Software Engineer Manager or Sr. Manager. Usually has no direct reports. Additional Details: No travel required. Mostly sedentary work in a comfortable indoor environment. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 or older. Legally permitted to work in the U.S. Preferred Qualifications: 5-8 years relevant experience. Extensive experience with Python, FastAPI, Tornado. Experience with Machine Learning, Generative AI, LangChain, LlamaIndex, RAG Architecture, Prompt Engineering. Knowledge of agentic frameworks like LangSmith, LangGraph. Experience with Vector Stores, NoSQL, Big Data platforms, orchestration tools, search retrieval systems, and ML Ops pipelines. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field. Experience: Minimum 3 years of work experience. Leadership Experience: None required. Certifications: None required.
