Senior Data Scientist - Experimentation (Science Focus) Location: New York City, New York, United States | Sector: Software and Services Description Design and build a new generation of experimentation platform for the Ads Platform organization. Apply leading-edge technologies to enable safe and data-driven launch of features that connect Apple users and advertisers, while upholding Apple's privacy commitments through experimentation. Collaborate with stakeholders and data scientists to design experiments and statistical methods that consider marketplace dynamics and produce reliable treatment effects. Provide expert guidance to engineers and scientists on statistical techniques, experiment design, and data engineering. Minimum Qualifications 8+ years of experience in software and data science or statistics, with deep knowledge of SQL and causal inference. Industry experience in SDLC is preferred. Ability to conduct comprehensive analyses using SQL, Python, and statistical methods to generate insights and improve treatment effect estimates. Experience with A/B testing infrastructure, methodologies, and understanding of randomized control trial assumptions. Marketplace experimentation experience is a plus. Familiarity with causal machine learning tools and techniques such as regression, propensity score matching, difference-in-differences, regression discontinuity, and instrumental variables. Experience designing and analyzing controlled experiments or causal inference studies to assess the impact of interventions, including measuring advertiser value from campaigns or algorithmic changes. Proficiency in SQL and Pyspark or Scala for analysis and building data products like pipelines and dashboards to automate experiment reporting at scale. Ability to lead the design and maintenance of scalable, reliable data pipelines, including data quality checks, monitoring, and lineage tracking. Advocate for best data engineering practices. Strategic partnership skills: work directly with stakeholders, including senior leaders, to identify, scope, and prioritize high-impact questions. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or related field. Experience working in cross-functional teams. Ability to understand complex, ambiguous problems and develop analytical approaches that translate into actionable insights. Curious mindset with ownership-driven project approach. Excellent communication, social, and presentation skills. Comfort working in a fast-paced, challenging environment. Mentoring experience for junior engineers and scientists. Compensation at Apple includes a base salary ranging from $175,800 to $312,200, depending on skills and experience.
