Supervisor for Central Sterile Processing at Winship, Emory Midtown Hospital
who is a certified technician committed to quality work and patient safety. This individual will: Coordinate and oversee daily activities between the Operating Room (OR) and Central Sterile Services Department (CSS) to ensure efficient case flow. Maintain current knowledge of standards such as CBSPD, AAMI, or IAHCSMM. Stay updated on aseptic techniques and microbiology to understand disease transmission and the importance of sterile supplies in patient care. Collaborate with SPD Educator to develop in-service education programs, assess supplies needed for surgical procedures, set up case carts, maintain inventory, and manage instrument trays and patient care equipment. Minimum Qualifications
Some college, an Associate's Degree, or Surgical Technologist certification preferred. Minimum of 2 years' experience in sterile processing, healthcare, or as an operating room scrub tech. Sterile Processing Technician Certification (CBSPD or CRCST) required; Surgical Tech candidates have 6 months to obtain certification. Completion of CHL Certification or CIS preferred; significant supervisory experience may waive this requirement if the candidate is a Surgical Technologist. Ability to perform basic math skills.
