We are seeking a
Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Level 1
to develop and define requirements from
project inception to completion
within a specific
subject matter area . This role involves
analysis, evaluation, and preparation of system recommendations
for improvement, optimization, development, and maintenance efforts. The ideal candidate will possess
expert-level knowledge
in
specific software or system tools
and contribute technical leadership in
information systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, automation, risk management, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation . Key Responsibilities: Develop
requirements and strategic plans
for assigned subject matter areas. Assist project members with
technical analysis, evaluation, and problem-solving . Prepare recommendations for
system improvements, optimization, and development efforts . Provide expertise in
information systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, automation, communications protocols, and risk management . Contribute specialized knowledge in
software lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation . Identify and mitigate
technical risks , ensuring system integrity and compliance with
DoD cybersecurity regulations . Collaborate with cross-functional teams, working closely with
engineers, analysts, and DoD leadership . Serve as a
technical liaison , ensuring project alignment with
mission-critical DoD initiatives . Maintain knowledge of emerging
DoD technologies, threat landscapes, and operational requirements . Required Qualifications: Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred. Education:
Bachelors degree in computer science , Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related discipline .
Experience:
Minimum
3 years
of relevant experience with a
bachelors degree
OR Minimum
1 year
of relevant experience with a
masters degree or higher .
Skills:
Expert-level knowledge in
specific software or system tools
related to DoD applications. Strong analytical and technical problem-solving abilities. Ability to support
complex system evaluations, design specifications, and implementation strategies .
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with
classified DoD systems and security-compliant environments . Familiarity with
DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST standards, and federal cybersecurity policies . Certifications such as
Security+, CISSP, ITIL, or DoD-approved technical credentials .
