Summary:
The Senior Manager of Operations is a leader responsible for fulfillment for Olive Branch Distribution Center. This individual will be responsible for organizing, staffing, evaluating, directing, and motivating operations personnel. The incumbent will develop, implement, and manage the operations department plans, budgets, policies and procedures. The Senior Manager of Operations will be responsible for establishing the goals and objectives for the operations group including the functions of: Shipping and Receiving, Warehousing, and Inventory Control. It is essential that he/she create a culture of excellence to drive positive results.
Salary
is $92,000 to $115,000 depending on experience.
Location:
Olive Branch, MS – Monday – Friday onsite. Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for staffing, organizing and managing resources in support of fulfillment objectives. Responsible for development of Operation Managers through training on policy & procedures, education by assisting in problem resolution when required and leading by example. Creates and implements operations department standard operating procedures (vendor evaluation, vendor review, inventory control, delivery scheduling, document control, vendor and product audits, etc.). Responsible for staffing and allocating resources appropriately to achieve the operations department objectives. Participates in senior management strategic planning process. Establishes metrics to evaluate performance within the distribution department. Oversees and manages the operations department’s budget, pursuing cost reduction initiatives and reviewing expenditures for approval. Qualifies and retains external resources as required. Maintains knowledge of current inventory control standards and best practices. Creates a culture of excellence to drive positive results. Implements cost reduction initiatives as appropriate. Responsible for inventory control processes including cycle counts and replenishment. Reviews individual warehouse inventory positions and trends to modify stocking requirements as needed to meet customer demand. Point of contact for warehouse management system. Assist with logistics carrier pick ups. Oversees the inventory cycle count process for inventory accuracy. Implements and maintains lean 5S systems. Responsible for the total quality of work instructions, processes, and root cause analysis of operation. Qualifications: BS or MS degree in Operations Management or other business discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management at a Senior Manager level. Has developed and implemented operations standards, policies, and procedures. Has developed operations organization charts, job descriptions and recruited, managed and mentored operations staff. Experienced with freight consolidation operations for both containerized and non-containerized shipping. Has managed purchasing resources to support a “Lean” or matrix product development organization with multiple concurrent projects. Leadership: Strong Leadership, communication and people development skills. Planning: Must be able to think ahead and plan short term as well as long term goals. Management: Must have the ability to plan, organize, delegate and manage multiple priorities. Business: Must understand our business and be able to align all aspects of our service, and logistics initiatives to the company’s business strategy and initiatives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Business acumen to provide business strategy and improve financial performance as it relates to the contribution of the operations department. Effective communication skills (verbal and written) in English. Must be able to communicate and negotiate with team members. Must be proficient with computers, NetSuite systems, Work Management System and Microsoft Office. Good presentation and organizational skills. Excellent work ethic, business ethics, and adherence to high quality standards. A true passion for the audio/video industry and the unique challenges it presents. An experienced change agent with a documented history of improving business and operations practices. Above average critical thinking, logic and reasoning abilities.
