Responsibilities Job Summary Under the supervision of a radiologist, this role performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Responsibilities include performing assigned tasks, data entry using hospital software, and providing coverage at various network locations as needed.
Review patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, and imaging site. Coordinate with radiologist as needed. Transport patients safely and assist them into position. Perform radiology procedures, monitor patient safety and comfort, administer contrast materials, and respond to contrast reactions. Obtain and evaluate images for quality assurance, including proper labeling and annotation. Use RIS, PACS, and other image management systems.
Assist in coordinating daily workflow of the department.
Maintain equipment, perform quality control testing, and contact service for repairs.
Rotate through department areas based on staffing and volume.
Participate in staff orientation, training, and in-service sessions.
Ensure a clean, safe environment for patients and staff. Manage stock and inventory.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED. Completion of an ARRT-accredited program or US military radiography training required.
Experience Successful completion of radiologic training required.
Licenses and Certifications ARRT Radiology Tech License and ARRT (R) credential required prior to start. AZ Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license required prior to start. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
