Job Description
Manage the successful implementation of a welfare and workforce services contract, ensuring all contractual commitments are met.
Set clear expectations for all team members, ensure accountability, and address human resources and team concerns promptly.
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local policies, as well as Workforce Services policies and procedures.
Maximize project funding streams and operate within funding guidelines.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with funding sources, employers, and workforce partners to optimize funding, customer satisfaction, and community relations.
Facilitate project accomplishments and ensure understanding and support of management decisions and contractual goals by staff.
Ensure all staff are trained and meet performance standards outlined by the contract.
Provide leadership, oversee budget and fiscal management, manage staff, and monitor performance.
Develop and maintain relationships with community resources to support program goals.
Ensure a positive customer experience for all internal and external customers.
Evaluate organizational and staff performance in meeting objectives; perform Quality Assurance and Monitoring.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable culture while promoting the company's mission, vision, values, and brand.
Manage human resources responsibilities such as hiring, coaching, and discipline in coordination with the HR team.
Ensure proper record keeping, control systems, and reporting practices.
Foster a motivational, collaborative, and innovative work environment.
Administer policies and procedures in accordance with standards.
Respond promptly to all requests for information and reports from funders and the company.
Participate in business development activities, including contract rebidding and new business pursuits.
Present information on project and company activities at meetings and conferences as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess:
Critical thinking skills to gather information and develop solutions.
High-level written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex concepts and provide clear team direction.
The ability to set expectations for accountability and take progressive action as needed.
Sound judgment for decision-making, course correction, and action planning based on local workforce needs.
Discernment of needs for efficiency improvements, process enhancements, and change management.
High emotional intelligence, resourcefulness, and solutions-oriented leadership.
Solid fiscal management skills with a willingness to develop further.
Additional qualifications include:
BS/BA in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Project Management, or related field.
At least 5 years of operational leadership experience, including managing multiple departments or teams, preferably with direct responsibility to executive leadership or a board.
Experience in workforce development environment is desirable but not required.
Public speaking experience.
Intermediate MS Office skills.
Valid driver’s license and insurance may be required.
Experience managing grants/contracts and financial oversight.
