Job Description Summary The MRI technologist is a journey-level position, typically requiring up to 2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Under supervision, reports to the Manager of OP Imaging Center and Radiology Administration, responsible for performing MRI procedures, patient care, and assisting physicians.
Job Requirements, Prerequisites And Essential Functions
Education
Graduate of an accredited ARMRIT or ARRT radiologic technologist program required.
At least 2 years of training in an ACR-accredited facility or formal MRI training required.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience
MRI experience within the last three years preferred.
License/Certification
California CRT preferred.
Valid MRI Certificate with ARMRIT or ARRT required within six months of hire; ARRT MRI designation preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
Venipuncture certification required at hire, with competency demonstrated within 30 days.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic imaging exams per department policies.
Correlate patient history with radiology exams.
Use universal precautions and assist with department clerical functions.
Participate in meetings, stay updated on policies, troubleshoot equipment, and respond to emergencies.
Maintain clinical competencies and attend continuing education.
Promote a professional image and perform special projects as assigned.
