Job Summary Under close supervision, the Radiologic Technologist (Multi‑Modality) performs a variety of duties in the Department of Radiology/ Imaging Services of Alameda Health System related to general Radiography/Fluoroscopy. Performs various diagnostic imaging examinations of patients as directed for diagnostic and treatment purposes according to established procedures. Performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions

Assist physicians in administering opaque media (contrast).

Rotate assignments within the department by assigned shifts as required to meet departmental needs.

Process images as appropriate for modality (CR/DR/Film) and use the PACS system (Picture Archival Communications).

Maintain adequate records of examinations/dose/contrast as directed, and appropriately utilize two patient identifiers with each patient exam.

Assist with movement of patients (rooming/transport).

Assist in the development/optimization of technical factors for radiographic procedures.

May assist in equipment or procedures not routinely taught in school.

May assist in the training of students.

Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with designate areas or procedures as required.

Perform all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties as determined by employer.

Practice sterile techniques and prevent cross contamination.

Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of environment and supplies.

Ensure utilization of non‑expired supplies by checking stock regularly and using the “first in first out” rule of re‑stocking.

Produce radiographs, position and transfer patients, and provide immobilization devices as necessary to obtain images.

Provide radiation protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards.

Ensure utilizing techniques that promote ALARA on an individual patient basis (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).

Select and operate all imaging equipment as directed and licensed to perform.

Qualifications

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Preferred Education: Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree.

Required Experience: Proficient in a minimum of three modalities.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

Valid ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification, and other ARRT certifications as they relate to each modality where appropriate.

Valid Fluoroscopy Permit issued by the State of California.

BLS – Basic Life Support Certification issued by AHA – American Heart Association.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Pay Range: $66.47 – $83.96 per hour.

The base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System is $66.47 – $83.96 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
