Job Description Based in Chicago, IL, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects.

The Resident Engineer will provide technical direction, mentor staff, and ensure project success through effective supervision of field activities, maintaining client relationships, and adhering to budget and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise consultant teams to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with high quality from pre‑construction through closeout.

Verify and document contract compliance, interpret drawings and specifications, and provide recommendations to the client.

Coordinate contractors’ work activities, chair internal and external project meetings, and actively participate in the contractor’s invoice review process.

Assist in project closeout activities, including processing documentation, warranties, O&Ms, punch lists, and final change management and invoicing documentation.

Conduct Quality Assurance inspections and support client interaction with construction contractors.

Proactively identify and address construction issues to prevent delays or rework and provide solutions that meet client expectations.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements

BA/BS with 6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

BA/BS in Civil Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.

Highway and Interstate construction experience.

Experience with IDOT documentation of contract quantities.

7+ years of DOT construction experience.

Professional Engineer license.

Compensation &Benefits Compensation is based on location and qualifications, with an expected salary range of $95,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year.
