Position Summary We are seeking a Commercial Litigation Attorney who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment. If you have a proven track record in handling complex business disputes and a deep understanding of corporate law, we want to hear from you.
Role and Responsibilities
Lead advocacy: represent clients as lead counsel in depositions, court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Litigation management: handle complex commercial litigation cases involving breach of contract, corporate governance, intellectual property disputes, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, and antitrust matters.
Legal research and analysis: conduct thorough research to identify relevant laws, precedents, and best practices.
Drafting legal documents: prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery documents, and filings that comply with applicable laws.
Strategic legal counsel: provide ongoing advice on risk management, compliance, and litigation‑related strategic decisions.
Settlement negotiations: engage in negotiations to resolve disputes favorably before trial when possible.
Collaboration: work with attorneys, legal staff, corporate clients, expert witnesses, and consultants to develop strategies.
Case management: oversee pre‑trial, discovery, trial, and post‑trial procedures.
Billing and documentation: maintain accurate records of client work, track billable hours, and ensure timely invoicing.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in Texas, in good standing.
5–7 years of commercial litigation experience.
Significant experience with depositions and in‑court advocacy.
Experience with evidentiary arguments and direct and cross‑examination at trial.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle complex legal issues with precision.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Proficiency with legal research tools and litigation software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with trial preparation and presentation, and managing high‑stakes litigation.
Proven ability to lead and mentor junior attorneys and staff.
Compensation and Benefits
$160,000 to $200,000 per year, based on experience.
