The Senior Property Accountant at Hyde Development will lead the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of Class‑A industrial and commercial properties across multiple markets. This role will ensure accurate, timely financials, drive continuous improvement, and partner closely with property and asset management teams. This role supports Hyde’s culture of high integrity, relationships, and community‑minded development.

Responsibilities

Lead month‑end and year‑end close for assigned property portfolio, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Prepare and present monthly financial statements and ad‑hoc analyses to the Controller and Asset Management team.

Oversee budgeting and forecasting for properties and collaborate with operations teams to align assumptions.

Perform CAM and lease reconciliations, tenant billing review, and ensure lease accounting accuracy.

Monitor cash flow and manage reporting for reserves, distributions, and inter‑company transfers.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, lease accounting, and vendor/tax reporting.

Mentor and review work of Associate Property Accountant(s) and promote continuous improvement.

Collaborate across property management, asset management, and development teams to translate financial insights into business actions.

Participate in ad‑hoc projects such as acquisitions, dispositions, redevelopment accounting, or system implementations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

5–7 years of property accounting experience in commercial/industrial real estate.

Strong understanding of GAAP, lease accounting, and CAM reconciliations.

Proficiency in Yardi, MRI, or comparable accounting software; advanced Excel skills.

Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to interact professionally with tenants, vendors, and colleagues.
