Job Description As an Engineering Project Manager within TJX Corporation’s Logistics Engineering team, you will be the leader in designing, procuring, and building the material handling systems that support TJX’s distribution centers.
Responsibilities
Work with DC business partners to address operational concerns within the Distribution Centers. Using a flexible/process improvement mentality to improve existing systems and procedures, increase efficiency, add capacity, and resolve problems from issue identification through resolution.
Develop short‑ and long‑term capital strategy to support DC volume growth.
Design and develop various Distribution Center engineering projects within all divisions of the TJX Companies.
Coordinate all aspects of each assigned engineering project from inception through the final stages of the project, including design, vendor sourcing and selection, installation, financial management and startup.
Design material handling/storage systems that enhance productivity and space utilization.
Travel to the Distribution Centers to supervise projects.
Research all historical data available, evaluate existing systems to project critical timing sequences, projected construction costs, Distribution Center space needs, systems expansion and subsequent equipment needs.
Recommend vendors based on quality of product/proposal and costs.
Provide extensive guidance to vendors during the detailed design process.
Ensure all material handling equipment installations are performed in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to the Distribution Center or other company operations.
Attend on‑site meetings during installations to ensure projects are progressing within the established timelines.
Coordinate the work of multiple vendors/contractors during the installation process. Investigate "groundbreaking" technologies to evaluate whether or not new concepts are applicable or beneficial to The TJX Companies.
Address operational concerns within the Distribution Centers to improve existing systems and procedures to increase efficiency and capacity of existing systems and to solve problems.
Provide feedback and guidelines to Architects and Project Managers regarding new projects and building upkeep.
Provide extensive knowledge and advice to Maintenance departments within the Distribution Centers. Answer questions regarding equipment problems. Contact vendors in order to replace/repair equipment in an expedient manner.
Perform special projects as assigned.
Mentor Project Engineers.
Lead capital projects up to $100 million or more in total cost.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial or Mechanical).
6+ years’ of Engineering & Project Management experience.
Experience with material handling systems.
Distribution Center/Retail experience preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD Design.
Understanding of work methods analysis.
Detail oriented, strong organizational and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to balance multiple projects and changing priorities and work independently as well as in a team environment.
Project Management experience leading teams.
Negotiation/influencing skills and strong communication skills.
40%-60% Travel is required.

This position has a starting salary range of $101,700.00 to $132,200.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long‑term incentives.
