About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Material Planner to join our supply chain team and lead end-to-end material planning and purchasing processes. In this role, you’ll manage inventory strategies, optimize procurement, and serve as the subject matter expert for Oracle ERP/MRP integrations. You’ll collaborate across engineering, operations, and procurement teams to ensure material availability and operational excellence.
Responsibilities Material Planning & Management
Develop and execute material plans based on production forecasts and inventory levels.
Oversee item setup, BOM management, and work order planning.
Partner with engineering and operations to forecast demand and minimize excess inventory.
Purchase Order & Request Management
Manage the full purchase order lifecycle from request to delivery.
Analyze ERP/MRP outputs to drive actions (expedite, push-out, cancel).
Coordinate with pre-buy managers to streamline purchase requests and resolve discrepancies.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, logistics, and production teams for efficient material flow.
Facilitate stakeholder meetings to align on priorities and address supply chain issues.
Process Optimization
Identify and implement improvements to material planning and purchasing processes.
Use data analytics to reduce lead times, minimize costs, and enhance efficiency.
Proactively mitigate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
Resolve issues related to shortages, quality, or delivery delays.
Execution & Reporting
Own material planning strategies and ensure timely delivery to support production schedules.
Communicate status updates and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
7+ years of experience in material planning, procurement, or supply chain management.
2+ years of hands‑on experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP (Supply Chain & MRP modules).
Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, and production scheduling.
Familiarity with multi‑site or global supply chains.
Experience with contract manufacturing (CM) or vendor‑managed inventory (VMI).
Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft BI.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience supporting ERP/MRP system integrations.
Knowledge of compliance standards (ISO, ITAR, FDA).
Advanced technical skills: Excel, Oracle BI, Tableau; programming experience with SQL or Python.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
