Senior Underwriter, Environmental – AXA XL AXA XL provides Integrated Environmental Risk Management tailored solutions combing underwriting, risk engineering and specialized claims management. A pioneer in the environmental insurance marketplace, AXA XL provides attentive service, environmental expertise, quality products and a long-term commitment to the marketplace.

This position is responsible for the profitable production and underwriting of contractor’s pollution/professional liability coverage for contractors and environmental consultants.

Responsibilities

Manage and underwrite a profitable book of services pollution renewal and new business per AXA XL Guidelines.

Cultivate key broker relationships with retail and wholesale brokers.

Review submissions per authorized guidelines.

Price, quote, and bind business stand‑alone annually renewal pollution and pollution/professional policies, as well as CCIPs, OCIP and pollution/professional projects.

Advocate and cross‑sell other AXA XL product lines to further drive the AXA XL business.

Coordinate with Middle Market and other AXA XL units to cross‑sell.

Support unit’s service standards in delivery of product.

Participate in volunteer or special projects as needed.

Some travel required.

You will report to the Head of Pollution Services.

Qualifications

Moderate pollution/professional underwriting experience is preferred.

Solution oriented, marketing focused and collaborative.

Outstanding time management skills.

Ability to work in an environment with complex transactions under strict deadlines.

Ability to handle a large volume of accounts with the flexibility to take on overflow business from other teammates when needed.

Ability to execute business strategies.

Brings established broker‑client relationships.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Outstanding negotiation skills.

Outstanding team player who is willing to work in a highly collaborative and fast‑paced environment.

Bachelor's Degree required.

CRIS and RPLU preferred.

Travel is estimated at 10‑15 %.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD 106,200 – 186,500. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
