Accounting Manager Dallas, TX – hybrid

Compensation $115-135K base + bonus

Vaco is working with one of our publicly-traded Fortune 500 clients to onboard an Accounting Manager to support the full cycle accounting for one of their largest regions. They are looking for candidates with strong operational and/or multi-location experience as well as someone who’s dealt extensively with the field, communicated variance analysis and translated accounting to non-accounting folks.

Day‑to‑day

Manage all aspects of the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes for multiple business units.

Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP.

Consolidate financial results across locations and provide variance explanations to senior leadership.

Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.

Serve as the primary accounting partner for regional and unit‑level operations teams.

Ensure consistent accounting practices across all locations and support unit managers in interpreting financial results.

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash management, and inventory accounting as applicable.

Maintain and strengthen internal controls across all units to protect company assets and ensure audit readiness.

Develop, update, and enforce accounting policies and procedures to support a rapidly growing or multi‑site environment.

Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors; support annual audits and tax filings.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing accounting team; manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations.

Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance reporting efficiency.

Support ERP/information system enhancements, integrations, or upgrades.

Implement best practices across decentralized or multi‑unit structures to improve data accuracy and visibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.

5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2–3 years in a multi‑unit corporate environment.

Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.

Experience supervising accounting staff and managing multi‑location workflows.

Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
