Summary Description The primary responsibility of this position is to purchase pulpwood from wood suppliers according to delivery schedules, quality standards, and pricing targets in the Upper Peninsula. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain residence in the Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula.

Qualifications Key Accountabilities

Purchase wood from wood suppliers and further develop Billerud's presence in the Eastern Upper Peninsula.

Understand the cost component benchmarks of delivered wood cost structure including cut/skid/haul, stumpage, and woodyard expenses.

Gather market intelligence and effectively communicate information to procurement team in a way that is compliant with all anti‑trust and other legal prohibitions.

Administer wood supply contracts and PO's consistent with company policies.

Manage a remote woodyard in Caffey Michigan and coordinate rail and trucking with a service contractor for approximately 50M tons of roundwood annually.

Be knowledgeable of where wood is being produced and enforce all Billerud certification and EUDR requirements.

Manage quota requirements to coincide with the consumption needs of 2 large Pulp and Paper Mills.

Interact with fellow Procurement Foresters and Mill personnel in a collaborative fashion.

Accept responsibility and accountability for regional volume targets to meet consumption requirements.

Required Experience and Education

Degree in forestry, business, or a related area, or

Strong knowledge of forest industry, with five years of related experience

Required Skills

Be able to communicate effectively with external/internal customers and work as a team member

Possess strong PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Ability to walk extensively and tolerate temperature extremes

Maintain community involvement and participate in professional organizations

Possess a current driver's license and maintain a good driving record

Work beyond normal work schedule, as necessary, to fulfill the position's responsibilities
