Maintenance Technician
Responsible for identifying and performing all regular maintenance activities at the rental buildings in the assigned geography. This includes responding to resident requests and managing their schedule of work as set forth by the Maintenance Superintendent. The role impacts residents by ensuring apartments are in excellent condition and all building operations and amenities meet the high standards of the RMS brand. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent.
Responsibilities
Execute maintenance requests as assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent
Perform building walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs
Provide friendly, responsive service to residents
Prioritize maintenance requests so building‑critical issues and customer requests are dealt with quickly
Perform checklist walkthroughs and verify services rendered by subcontractors
Accurately record and report own time
Respond to maintenance requests at the direction of the Property Manager or Assistant Property Manager when the Maintenance Superintendent is unavailable
Accurately communicate work requested and work executed to the Maintenance Superintendent
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience in building maintenance (experience or familiarity with all trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair)
Must have a current driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to read, write and speak English
Full‑time position (no overtime)
Candidates required to work Monday – Saturday and rotate being on call for any emergencies
